Directly overlooking the shores of Lake Como, Il Timone is an apartment full of authentic charm located in Colonno, one of the most picturesque villages in the area. Its privileged location makes it the ideal choice for those looking to enjoy a relaxing stay, immersed in the beauty of the landscape and just a short walk from the main attractions of the lake.

The apartment is on the ground floor and features cozy spaces rich in typical details of local historic homes. The living area includes a spacious lounge with an open-plan kitchen, dining table, and a comfortable sofa—perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the surroundings. Original elements, such as the terrazzo flooring, the fireplace decorated with delicate floral motifs, and the light curtains, create a lively and authentic atmosphere. The true protagonist of the home, however, is the lake: large windows brighten the room and open onto a charming balcony directly overlooking the beach, offering enchanting views of the water and surrounding mountains. Next to the living area, a door leads to the master bedroom, spacious and equipped with a large wardrobe to organize your clothing. From the bedroom, you have direct access to the bathroom, complete with shower and private washing machine. (Please note: the bathroom ceiling is lower than usual; to ensure maximum comfort in the shower, a convenient seat has been provided.)

High-quality bed linen, towels, and a courtesy kit are provided.

In front of the apartment is the scenic Lungolago di Colonno, perfect for a relaxing walk by the water and the starting point of the Greenway of Lake Como, a pedestrian path through villages, olive groves, and breathtaking views. Heading north along the coast, you reach Sala Comacina, overlooking the unique Isola Comacina, the lake’s only island, full of historic ruins and local legends. In Lenno, besides the pleasant lakeside promenade, you can visit the famous Villa del Balbianello, one of Lake Como’s most iconic villas, renowned for its spectacular gardens and cinematic appearances. Furthermore, with convenient ferry connections, it is easy to reach some of the lake’s most renowned destinations, such as Bellagio, Varenna, and the city of Como, ideal for a day of shopping and culture.

How to get there:

By car: from the A9 motorway, take the “Lago di Como” exit and continue on SS340 (“Via Regina Nuova”) for about 20 minutes until you reach Colonno. Set your GPS to the property.

By train: from Como train stations “Como Lago” or “Como S. Giovanni,” take the C10 bus towards Menaggio and get off at the “Colonno - Borgo delle Uve” stop (about 35 minutes). From there, the apartment is about 150 meters away.
